The Institute of Medical Informatics, Center for Experimental Medicine (former Department of Computer Science in Medicine, IMDM) at the university hospital of Hamburg Eppendorf developed a system for building computer based 3D models of human anatomy called "VOXEL-MAN".
The very detailed inner organs model is based on the Visible-Human data obtained from photographical and computertomographical images of sectional anatomy.
The anatomical simulations of longitudinal endoscopic ultrasound in this software are developed on the base of this model.

VOXEL-MAN 3D Navigator Inner Organs is an interactice anatomical and radiological software atlas of inner organs published at the Springer-Verlag. It is derived from the same anatomical model.
